My paintings fill a need to record those places and times while on a journey that evoke curiosity and awe. Mood, changes of time and a sense of quiet are important considerations for subject matter as well as a generous dose of romance. Painting in the purest form of color - soft pastels - is vital to my achievement of a true sense of place.
